Automate GitHub delivery workflows with a Vida AI Agent

Use a Vida AI Agent to monitor pull requests, triage issues, review CI run status, post comments, and support release coordination through GitHub.

Vida AI Agent skill

github

GitHub workflow automation for PRs, issues, CI runs, comments, reviews, releases, repositories, and targeted GitHub queries.

Workflows a Vida AI Agent can automate

A Vida AI Agent can turn GitHub into an active workflow surface for engineering operations. Instead of manually checking pull requests, CI runs, and issue queues, Vida can configure an agent to monitor repository activity, take approved actions, and keep teams informed with the right context at the right time.

Keep pull request queues moving

A Vida AI Agent can list and inspect pull requests, review checks and diffs, post comments, and help coordinate merge workflows for approved changes.

Triage and update engineering issues

The agent can review open issues, inspect labels and discussion context, create new issues, add comments, and close issues with resolution notes.

Monitor CI failures and follow up faster

The agent can list recent workflow runs, inspect run status and conclusions, pull failed logs, and rerun failed jobs when appropriate.

Answer repository status questions

The agent can query GitHub data for repository, pull request, and label details to support reporting, coordination, and exception handling.

Support release and repository administration

The skill supports GitHub release and repository workflows so a Vida AI Agent can be configured to assist with recurring repository operations.

What the agent can do

  • List, inspect, create, comment on, and close GitHub issues
  • List, inspect, create, check, comment on, and merge pull requests
  • Review pull request diffs, reviews, and decision status
  • List CI runs, inspect run details, retrieve failed logs, and rerun failed jobs
  • Query GitHub repository and workflow data with structured JSON output
  • Work directly from pull request URLs for targeted review workflows

Good fit for

  • Software engineering organizations with high GitHub activity
  • Teams that want AI-driven pull request and issue coordination
  • DevOps teams that need CI run monitoring and failure response
  • Organizations standardizing repository workflow automation across projects

Setup notes

  • GitHub CLI (gh) must be installed in the runtime environment
  • GitHub authentication must be configured for the environment where the agent runs
  • If the runtime uses a different HOME directory than the existing GitHub CLI auth location, GH_CONFIG_DIR may need to be set and the service restarted
